Colorado State University (CSU) at Pueblo will be the home of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system with a capacity of more than 1 megawatt (MW), which, according to CSU, is one of the largest solar systems for an education facility in the United States. Being built under an agreement with Black Hills Energy and BP Solar, the system is estimated to contribute more than 10 percent of the University's electricity needs. Installation of the ground-based solar array began in July with full operation scheduled for late this fall.
