Indian Oil and Natural Gas close to Iraq contract

A unit of India's state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) is close to completing renegotiation of an oil deal in Iraq signed in 2000 under Saddam Hussein, company sources said. The exploration deal would be for Block Number 8 in Iraq's western desert. An industry source estimated exploration and development would cost around $1.5bn.
