I saw an interesting documentary the other day on the Discovery Channel and they talked about "pourable batteries". Has anyone else heard of this technology??

That was a really interesting documentary. From what I understand, the technology is still just a conceptual idea on the "engineering drawing boards" there at MIT. They are evaluating the potential development of large, eco-friendly stationary batteries made entirely from liquid metal that would store large amounts of power from wind farms or solar cells or serve as backup power sources for hospitals.

Hytron 50 - is a Nickel Metal Hydride type cell (NiMH), not lithium ion.
