Iran's Opec Governor said Opec may meet before its scheduled December 17 gathering in Oran, Algeria, as crude prices fell to a 20-month low, reported Bloomberg. Mohammad Ali Khatibi said it is not abnormal for the leaders to meet in a situation as critical as this. OPEC decided last month to reduce production quotas by 1.5 million barrels a day after waning demand caused prices to tumble from their July record of $147.27 a barrel.
